Well couldn't find the "Chicken Shack" (as it was called by the camper that recommended it) in Ashby. We drove through the town but could only find a place called "The Snack Shack". It was hardly a restaurant. More like a fast food place that served chicken. Before committing to "The Snack Shack", we decided to go to the bar attached to the laundromat where Lewie does his laundry. We figured we'd inquire about the place across the street after we had a few cocktails. Needless to say, we never left for supper. There was quite a few people there and we were having fun so we stayed. The bar served food as well so we ordered a combination appetizer platter and some onion rings. It filled the void and didn't interfere with the alcohol. Finally at 9:00 pm we left and headed back to camp. We were up this morning at 7:00 am. It didn't take long to finalize the packing as I'd done most of it yesterday. We said our goodbyes to Lewie and were on our way just after 8:00 am. And what can I say about the drive? 530 boring miles though Minnesota, North Dakota, and into Montana. I coughed off and on the whole way due to my cold. Denise was good at ignoring my disgusting noises. It's amazing how much more boring the miles are when I'm heading home. We sat outside in the evening drinking. Denise was elated to be on her way home and made several phone calls to friends and family announcing her soon return. I was still adjusting to the fact that it was over and there was basically nothing to look forward to from this point on. Alcohol seemed to fit both of our situations.
