Boat Repair - 8/17
Back Home Up Next

We got going early today.  Lewie, Denise, and I got the boat out of the lake and placed on the newly repaired trailer.  Well, they claim it's repaired.  The right wheel still has some play in it and I don't think it's right.  I asked them to check that when I dropped the boat off to have the power trim motor replaced and the electrical short tracked down.

After dropping off the boat at 9:00 am, we went to the Dalton Cafe for breakfast.  Just can't get enough of that good country gravy.  Then we headed back to camp.

It's a grey, dreary day but it's warm so it's pretty muggy.  The temperature is around 75 degrees but the dew point is 70.  Sticky.

I hoped the boat would be done in the early afternoon so I might have a chance to take it out.  But no luck.  They didn't call until 5:00 pm.  However they installed the trim motor, found a short in a switch, and tightened up the wheel bearing.  Everything looks good.  I sure hope the weather is nice enough to take it out tomorrow.

Thursday is bingo night at the Elk's Lodge so we went again.  We had fun but none of us had the luck I had the previous week.  No winners.  Bingo was over around 9:00 pm so we were back and in bed by 10:30 pm.  I've announced that I don't care what the weather is like tomorrow.  I'm taking the boat out and going fishing.  Anyone that wants to come along is welcome.
