The Family Drew Three Amigos

Joke of the Day

One guy asks another, "Do you think there's too much apathy in the world?".

The other guy replies, "I don't know and I don't care."

We all went to the Dalton Cafe for breakfast this morning.  Everyone was pretty hungry since we had foregone supper the previous evening.  Lewie usually only eats about half or less of what he's served and always takes home leftovers.  But not today.  He ordered biscuits and gravy with extra gravy.  It was a good sized portion.  The biscuit was about the size of an English muffin, maybe even a little larger like a hamburger bun.  Then the whole thing was smothered in gravy.  Good gravy too.  With lots of pieces of sausage.

After working on that for about 25 minutes, Lewie claimed to be a member of the "Clean Plate Club".  And it was.  His plate could have just been reused for the next customer.

Meanwhile, no one else, me included, could finish his meal.  So it was quite odd that Denise and I left the restaurant with leftovers while Lewie was hands free.

We said our goodbyes and headed back to camp.  It was a good visit with Barb, Larry, and Mike.  Once back at camp, Denise settled in for the nap she had just started on Friday but was cut short when Kenny and Judy Olsen arrived.  Lewie and I headed out on the lake to try the minnows once more.

We fished for about 3 hours but came up short handed.  I caught just one sunny although it was the largest one I've ever caught.  I'd say about 9" long.  And one small walleye.  At least it didn't take long to clean them.

The lack of activity around here is a constant reminder of the tragedy that happened yesterday.  Normally there'd be lots of activity around the resort on a weekend.  But the steakhouse is closed until further notice and hardly any one is out.  I'm sure the weather has something to do with it but normally there'd still be people enjoying the beach irregardless of the wind.  Lewie says it's like a morgue around here.  Yes it is.

We did our usual evening thing where Lewie had about 2 or 3 beers before heading back to his trailer.  Denise and I were pretty tired as well.  We were in our respective positions in front of the TV by about 8:00 pm.
