Ahhhh, it's much cooler this morning. I opened the trailer door and could still breathe. The temperature is forecast to still be in the low to mid 80's but the humidity is gone. What a difference! We took the dogs and stopped by Nicki's office to meet Thomas, the guy she works with. Then back to her house where we put the dogs in their crates and headed for the Mall of America in Bloomington, near Minneapolis. This is the largest retail and entertainment complex in North America. You can learn more about it at their web site. And it *is* huge. Although most of the stores are the same as you'd find in any city, here they all are in one place. And stores ranging from low priced Marshalls and Sears to Gucci and Bloomingdales. There are four floors of shopping, an amusement park, a movie theater, LegoLand, and Underwater Adventures, all indoors. We walked around just looking for the most part and then decided to have lunch at Bubba Gump's Seafood Co. It was absolutely wonderful. Then we headed back to Nicki's in Eau Claire. Heading out to the freeway, I noticed that the front brakes in the truck seem to be grinding. Jesus, now what? I just had both front and rear brakes done last year in February 2004. Maybe I burnt them up coming down the Rockies? I don't know but I guess I'll find a shop and take it in tomorrow. We spent the evening on Nicki's porch enjoying the much drier air. We had a nice visit but again, were pretty tired by 8:00 pm so we went back to the trailer. I spent a little time catching up on the web site while Denise did some reading. |
