Lewie's Name

How many ways can I describe nice weather?  I'm running out of ideas.  But yes, another nice day.  Same temps in the mid 70's and the winds are light.

We got up around 8:00 am and started cooking right away.  We told the cousins that we would have dinner for them so they didn't have to worry about cooking their first night.  The told us (teasingly) that they wouldn't be here in time for dinner but would appreciate supper.  Yeah, yeah.  Whatever.  So I'm making Sheryl's BBQ Beef Brisket (I should post that recipe in my "Better Than Favorites" - email me if you want it and I haven't posted it yet.) and Denise is making a Jell-O salad and Sheryl's Beans (another recipe I should post).  The beans and brisket need to slow cook all day so we're getting started now.

As we headed to the boat, Jerry was working in the store and came out with my package from Semsons.  Hooray!  Now if I can get the GPS software loaded on the Pocket PC, I'll be back in business.  But first, we're going fishing.

By 11:00 am, we were on the boat fishing.  Things were slow at first but soon picked up.  We caught 8 bullheads and probably 10 or so sunnies.  There were also several bass caught.  I enjoy catching the bass as they really put up a fight but Denise and Lewie hate catching them because you can't keep them and it takes too much time to bring them in.  They want sunnies and bullheads.

We were out until nearly 3:00 pm.  Earlier, we agreed to come in at 2:00 pm but Denise didn't want to give up which was fine with Lewie and I.  After checking the brisket which was roasting in Lewie's convection over in his new motor home, I immediately got started on fixing the Pocket PC.  I reinstalled the ActiveSync software (the software that manages the connection between the Pocket PC and the regular PC) and then retried all the steps I took yesterday.  No luck.  Now what?

I thought about it for a few minutes and then realized that I might be able to take the storage card out of the Pocket PC, put it in the laptop, copy the software to it, and then put the card back in the Pocket PC and load the files.  But what files?  Normally you just run a setup program on the regular PC and then ActiveSync takes care of transferring the files to the Pocket PC and putting everything in the right place.  Well I'll spare you the gory details but I figured it all out and installed the software manually from the storage card.  Success!!!  The GPS system in now working.

Is that the dogs barking?  Yep.  The cousins have arrived.  We spent the rest of the afternoon visiting and then built a campfire in the evening.  It was a nice day.

While sitting around, I started taking some pictures of Lewie's things.  You will see he really does write his name on everything.  During our stay, I will continue to take and post pictures.  I've created an online photo album just for these pictures.  You can view it by clicking here.
