Denise is feeling much better today.  We started our day with a short drive to the Buffalo Bill Dam just 5 miles down the road.  The dam is on the Shoshone River and is the one that the famous Hoover Dam was modeled after.  It was interesting to see and I took a few pictures.

Next we went back into town.  Our first stop was a fireworks outlet where I added to my arsenal.  Next we had lunch at a local restaurant called Bubba's BBQ.  It was pretty good.  Then is was off to the shops in downtown Cody.

After shopping, we stopped in the Irma Hotel.  This is the hotel that William Cody (Buffalo Bill) built and named after his daughter.  Supposedly, there's a beautiful cherry wood bar that was a gift to him from Queen Victoria in the early 1900's.  At that time, the bar was appraised at over $100,000.  We went to the bar but didn't see anything special about it.

We went to the local Elks Lodge but it was closed.  The book said they were open daily but I guess that doesn't include Labor Day.  So back to camp and we resumed playing dominos in the evening.  Denise won her first tournament and we remain tied in the next.

We've decided that we like Cody and we are going to stay another night.  Tomorrow, we plan to take the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway.  It's a 52 mile drive that goes north to Red Lodge, MT and then loops back through the Beartooth Mountains near the northeast entrance to Yellowstone.  Then after the drive, maybe the Elks Lodge will be open as I'm sure we'll be thirsty after our drive.
